Begin vorig jaar hebben we samen met onze innovatiepartner FFIT gehoor gegeven aan een oproep van Neelie (en haar EU-collega’s op het betreffende departement) om input te geven op de te ontwikkelen digitale agenda voor Europa. Dat was leuk. Nog leuker is het om passages van het gegeven advies uiteindelijk terug te lezen in het Start-up Manifesto EU.
Iedereen die geen zin heeft om Engels te lezen. Stop hier. Hetgeen wij naar de EU hebben geadviseerd heb ik in december 2012 in het artikel ‘Thanks for Asking‘ verwerkt (blog uit de oude doos). We zijn realistisch genoeg om te bedenken dat we niet de enigen waren met die tips. En we hebben ook zeker niet de verbeelding slimmer te zijn dan The Startup Europe Leaders Club, een team bollenbozen, waaronder Neerlands afgevaardigde en een der digitale trotsen, Boris.
Manifesto
Aldus: we kennen onze plaats, maar toch is het leuk om de volgende gegeven adviezen terug te lezen in het Manifesto. Onze drie hoofdzakelijke adviezen omvatten destijds:

[…Furthermore we would like to stipulate the importance of investing in more technical education specifically the IT related because if the growth becomes reality, which it will, we will face an enormous shortage in developers, designers and programmers. This should start at primary school…]

The focus of this topic is on entrepreneurs who use web and mobile technologies as main components in their business model. Types of action: Innovation Actions (70% funding).
